More About us
Inside the gates, visitors discover a tranquil courtyard amongst shady trees, flowers, and intriguing historic buildings. Christian staff members from around the world serve and minister to guests touring the Christ Church campus, and those staying in the Guest House.
Facing the Guest House is the 19th century Christ Church – the first Protestant Church in the Middle East – where visitors can pray, or just bask in the unique atmosphere of one of the jewels of Jerusalem's undiscovered places. The church is home to a number of weekly worship services. Next to the Church is the Minister's House, which served as the first British Consulate in Israel.
Within the Guest House, visitors can enjoy refreshments or full meals in the Coffee Shop, or join in a Shabbat meal on Friday evenings. Living accommodation is comfortable, offering suites, single and double rooms furnished in the Ottoman style.
There is also a beautiful, secluded prayer garden, available on request, for quiet reflection, study, prayer, and renewal.
The unique historical environment enables visitors to learn about the inspiring contributions by the London Jewish Society (now known as CMJ) to the land and people of Israel. Our Heritage Centre, which includes the historic buildings, a number of 19th century architectural models and many displays and photographs, chronicle the events and notable individuals whose passion for God led them to work on behalf of the Jewish people.
Christ Church Volunteers
We have an international team of volunteers at Christ Church whom we think of as family. Their main duties include housekeeping, various kitchen tasks, maintenance, reception and front desk duties. Volunteers work alongside our local team comprised of Arab and Jewish staff.
The mini-museum, covering the history of the Christian contribution to the establishment of the State of Israel, is a magnet for Israeli people who love the atmosphere and architecture. Volunteers have the opportunity to experience many cultures and interact with people from a variety of religious backgrounds. If you are physically fit, mature in attitude, flexible in nature, and committed to following Jesus then you are welcome to apply.

We are a Christian organisation and part of the Anglican Church - evangelical and traditional in our values. Probably the biggest percentage of our guests are Christians who, as well as our staff, hold to the same basic values.
Our guesthouse is adjacent to and integrated with our church and as well as being a guest house, our staff and volunteers represent a community where prayer, devotions and worship make up a regular pattern of our daily life.
