This is the final part of a three-part video series that covers the topic of Tisha B'Av, the national day of mourning in Judaism, and its importance for us now in the Church. In the previous video, Aaron Eime shared on the effect our repentance as a community has on the presence of God.
Part three of our series wraps up all these issues by explaining the importance of prayer as a nation. Tisha B’Av reminds us that prayer is not only an individual act but a corporate one. Jesus taught us to pray 'our Father' not 'my Father'.
Therefore we should take seriously calls for national days of pray, confession, and repentance. We shouldn’t point fingers at others, rather we should humble ourselves acknowledging we too have sinned and that our nation has sinned. We have hope that should we repent God will redeem and bless our nation.
